dining room woohoo!

March 3, 2010

so the dining room is done, can’t believe it! Mr broke has been incredible for obliging my dislike of textured ceilings and because the the ceiling was both textured and curved, my preference turned out to be more of a nuisance… but beauty has prevailed and after weeks of skimming and sanding and raising headers to accommodate the gigantic doors we are done-zo.

a peak in from the living room, we are planning on either reupholstering or replacing the end chairs, most likely white, who would’ve guessed

the one built in cabinet needs the door installed…

I found some lovely knobs for the cabinets at anthropologie, I’ll post a detail soon

we installed “for real” picture moulding and now this wall is begging for a gallery wall, don’t you think? The picture mouldingĀ  came from the same convent as the doors, which ps. I’m in love with, this one still needs the transom installed

the doors that we jerry rigged to be double doors, with a peak into what will be the bar/library/louise nevelson room

also super psyched with the ikea blinds and how nicely the leaded glass cleaned up

couldn’t help it here’s another one of the double doors, now it’s time for a dinner party.
